Lenses

Mxx series cameras (M40, M50...) and VCSBC50 use 12mm diameter lenses with fixed focus and iris, availabe witn several focal lengths.

Mxx cameras are normally supplied with a 12mm lens: should you wish to use a different focal length, two alternatives are available (at the same cost):

  • ordering a different lens to be preinstalled (among available lenses below).

or

  • ordering the removable cover version and purchasing the required lenses separately.

Nominal working distance and field of view as delivered are according to following table:

    M40 M40 M50 M50
Focal Length (mm) Working distance (mm) X dim. of
field (mm)
Y dim. of
field (mm)
X dim. of
field (mm)
Y dim. of
field (mm)
2.5 85 175 131 133 99
3.6 85 117 88 88 66
4.3 85 100 75 76 57
6 85 70 53 53 40
8 85 52 39 39 29
12 85 33 25 25 19

Working distance is referred to the front of the camera.

M40 uses a 1/3" sensor (4,736 x 3,552 mm).

M50 uses a 1/4" sensor (3,584 x 2,688 mm).

Prices for these lenses are  >>>here<<<

Need a different working distance or field of view?

It is very easy to adjust the position of the lens (by simply turning it) so that significantly different working distance and field of view can be achieved.

Field of view Vs. Working distance is plotted here: (click to enlarge)
