A DSP frame grabber with "reasonable" processing power: for this money, you couldn't get more.

ISA frame grabber with on board DSP

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NEW DESIGN: you much better use SMARTVIEW smart cameras instead

Please note: this is an old ISA workhorse, we have replaced it with the much cooler SMARTVIEW smart cameras (more power, less cost, NO PC...have a look) so we only support it for maintenance of existing systems and cannot guarantee future availability.

FYI, these were the main features of this old glory:

Features:

  • ADSP2105 10MHz processor, 2M RAM, one B/W input
  • Very comprehensive and optimized image processing libraries, covering filtering, blob analysys, pattern matching...
  • Easily scalable architecture: several boards can share the burden of processing images from the same camera, or each borad can process images from several cameras; the only limit being the number of available ISA slots.
  • Easy implementation of multi-camera, asynchronous applications
  • Allows capture of images from moving parts, controlling async reset cameras and LED flashlights (requires additional hardware)

The on-board processor is all but esotheric, still it endowes a significant amount of processing power that relieves the PC of most of the processing burden (even more so in multicamera applications)

The supplied libraries are very comprehensive: logical and arithmetic operations between omages are supported, along with filters and convolutions, pattern matching, blob analysys.

Mostly written in assembly language and thoroughly optimized, they can process images at fairly high speed, as can be seen from the enclosed benchmarks.
